This book made me realize that I am not scatterbrained and distracted!

My interests seem to most people to be all over the map. I no sooner get interested in a topic I just heard about, and I'm suddenly off on another tangent based on something I hear or read about. And the cycle continues on, and on,,,

I had always been concerned that the knowledge I had gained through the years was too broad. I was worried that since I had not taken the initiative to delve deeply into any one area of expertise that people and employers would not take me seriously. Sometimes they don't!

At the same time, though, I seem to have more than average insight into topics based on what I've learned from something seemingly unrelated. I seriously thought it was not normal. That I was grabbing at straws trying to make my mark in my broadly distracted way.

Until I read this book, that is. Suddenly, it all made sense! I realized that I wasn't deficient in some way, but that I was gifted with the ability to take a larger-than-average view of a situation and make connections where most people would never dream of looking.

I have a new goal in life now - to broaden my knowledge into as many different topics as humanly possible, keeping the faith that when the time comes, the connections will click and I will be able to do something great.

Stay tuned!

This book and the concept of Integrative Thinking changed my entire mindset of what the objecitve is and what my job is in leading teams and projects.

The concept of being a model chooser vs a model maker / creator is the most valuable construct I've learned in business.
