Tell us your story about The Creation and Destruction of Value

Is globalization broken? Are we headed for another world war or a muddled depression? James cuts to the heart of these important issues, and uses concepts such as trust, values and virtue (remember that?) that reasonate through time.

As a result of James book, I now have a historical context for our globalization. I live right across from the Convention Center where the G20 session is gathering in Pittsburgh for Sep 24 & 25, 2009. Over the Convention's doors should be what James quotes in his book from the priest in plague-ridden Thebes in Oedipus Tyrannus:

Find some deliverance for us
By the way that god or man can show.
We know that experience of times past gives strength
To present counsel. Therefore, O greatest of men,
Restore our city to life. Have a care for your fame.

The irony is that the plague was brought by those very same men. That is why tragedy is so pertinent to our situation.

James is pitch perfect in this classic book. In my opinion, it is as classic as Sophocles Theban Plays.
